Exotic, sporty, with turbo and automatic transmission
The TVR TASMIN is rooted in the late seventies. This is obvious by its looks: the clear lines of the angular design. The colour gold combined with light-coloured Connolly leather was totally en vogue in the early eighties.
As a true sports car the Tasmin is constructed on a tubular lattice frame. The technical design of the chassis and other parts were strongly influenced by Lotus, because the Tasmin's engineers had been recruited from the House of Lotus. The excellent performance of the TVR sports car was the result of a very favourable ratio between the very light vehicle and its very powerful engine. With the car weighing in at less than 1000 kg, the 2.8 litre turbo engine produces 228 HP.
In fact we are proud to say that we own the one and only 2.8 litre turbo convertible that was ever built! It was considered lost for years - just think how absolutely happy we are to have traced it. Share in our joy! Enjoy the seventies or eighties flair and drive this truly unique sports car under South Africa 's sun.
Styled by ex-Lotus designer Oliver Winterbottom, the Tasmin was named after the girlfriend of then TVR boss Martin Lilley.
Please note, that the Tasmin's boot is rather small; even more so, when the hardtop is stored away there. Our Tasmin is an automatic, which will certainly increase your driving pleasure around the Cape.
