The Chimaera has its roots in the TVR Tuscan racing car, introduced in 1988. For this model the well-known tubular frame chassis, an improved suspension and a 280hp, 8-cylinder engine was used. The Tuscan’s spirit reappeared in the new 1991 Chimaera - a superior sports car for the road.

Test drivers were immediately taken with the Chimaera’s character, which is an almost forgotten combination of pure V-8 power with rear wheel drive and an exciting roar from the exhaust. There is no equivalent to any presently available model of car. The overall impression is rated equal even to that of the 1961 Jaguar E-Type. But most connoisseurs see this sports car, which is highly popular in Britain, as the true successor of the Shelby Cobra. The TVR offers a similarly intoxicating mixture of seductive curves, phenomenal strength and outstanding driving properties. And few other cars can match the Chimaera’s character-interior: everything is covered in leather and shaped from wood. Attractive details in the design include a removable top and doing away with door handles on the outside.

When topless, the Chimera can be enjoyed with almost no draft, as the seats are very low. The cockpit is extremely comfortable even for passengers up to 1.95 m tall, and the luggage compartment is large enough for two golf bags. Where else in the world will you be able to call this road-eating, heart-thrilling sports cabriolet your own for a few days?? Enjoy!
