1975 Alfa Romeo Spider Squareback
The Alfa Spider is a car that encapsulates an entire history of great ‘open-tops’. At the same time it was always ahead of its time. Sleek, decisive styling and technologically advanced engines with enormous character achieved the Spider’s goal of offering a wonderful driving experience in total comfort and safety. The Alfa Romeo Spider was introduced at the Geneva Automobile Parlour in 1966. It was built according to the last design which Battista Pininfarina, the founder of the Turin design company, was able to finish. The Spider’s beauty, combined with the sporty Alfa engine, was immediately appreciated. The precise steering, exquisite five-speed-transmission and excellent disc brakes made driving this car a fun experience which was hard to beat. The Alfa Romeo Spider Roundback became world-famous when it was featured on California’s coastal roads in the movie ‘The Graduate’. In 1971 the short-tail Squareback was introduced. |
